About Wildheart Gardens

Wildheart Gardens & Nursery is an East Bay-based landscaping and garden maintenance company specializing in permaculture and sustainable landscape design. Founded by Christopher Shein, a renowned permaculture gardener, designer, and author, the company creates functional and beautiful landscapes that benefit both clients and the environment. They utilize native pollinators, seasonal vegetables, fruits, medicinal plants, and organic products, while implementing water-harvesting techniques including rainwater collection, greywater systems, and earthworks like swales. Located in Oakland's Fruitvale District, their nursery showcases seasonal plants and is open to the public by appointment and during seasonal sales. With deep roots in the Bay Area community, Wildheart Gardens has designed permaculture gardens for community gardens, schools, and both public and private spaces throughout the region.
